As a Civil/Environmental Engineer (E2) at Water Works Engineers, your role is vital to Water Works Engineers as it directly supports the successful delivery of critical water and wastewater infrastructure projects. By assisting Project Managers and Project Engineers, you will contribute to the planning, design, and execution of essential systems that impact public health and environmental sustainability. Your role in ensuring site development and compliance with environmental regulations is key to maintaining our projects' high standards and operational efficiency. Your daily impact:

  • Assist in the planning and developing civil and environmental engineering projects, focusing on site development, water infrastructure, and environmental compliance.
  • Perform complex calculations and analysis for preliminary and detailed designs, including grading, drainage, and site layout.
  • Prepare detailed reports, plans, and specifications to support project development and ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Develop and review cost estimates to support project budgeting and financial feasibility.
  • Review construction submittals to ensure adherence to project specifications, codes, and industry standards.
  • Under the supervision of a project manager, conduct field inspections to monitor project progress, ensure compliance with project requirements, and address on-site issues.
  • Collaborate with project teams and coordinate with other engineering disciplines to achieve project goals and maintain schedules.
  • Ensure all projects meet relevant industry standards, codes, safety regulations, and environmental requirements.
  • Contribute to the planning and strategy for potential office expansions and new projects.


What you bring to the table:

  • Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering from an accredited engineering program.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification is strongly preferred.
  • 3-7 years of experience in civil and environmental engineering, focusing on site development, water infrastructure, or related projects.
  • Proficiency in CADD software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Project).
  • Knowledge of hydraulic modeling programs is a plus.
  • Self-motivated with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to perform both office and field work as required.
